Trash Pumps Industry Information

Trash Pumps

Also known as sludge pumps, waste water pumps or sewage pumps, heavy-duty trash pumps are designed to handle mud, sand, trash, soft solids, and twigs.

Quick links to Trash Pumps Information

Design of Trash Pumps

Their design allows them to pump hundreds or thousands of gallons of water per minute. Trash pumps have deeper impeller vanes incorporated with a larger volute discharge opening.

Application of Trash Pumps

Trash pumps have the capability of processing heavy-duty or viscous materials that would clog other centrifugal pumps and are used in such applications as construction and agricultural sites.

Types of Trash Pumps

In addition to ordinary trash pumps, semi-trash pumps are also available. They are considered “semi-trash” due to their smaller openings and inability to handle the same amounts of trash as standard trash pumps. Because there is no objective industry standard that divides semi-trash pumps from trash pumps, however, semi-trash pumps are often labeled as trash pumps.
